I've not made these in ages and so it was so nice to return to them..this design has them with longer thinner limbs which I'm really loving right now.
Very firmly stuffed and joined with fat beads and thick wire they are pose-able and sit beautifully.
They are both machine and hand sewn with lots of tiny stitching and visible mending. Using found and vintage fabrics each Rat is one of a kind and is built to last. A real heirloom piece. For these Rats I have used a heavy embroidery with a floral theme running through it. It's a lovely pastel green which I would call Sage...
Its lined inside and under the arms in a red wine velvet which sets off the flower in similar colours under the chin.
They are each aged with tea, coffee and features are enhanced with dark pencils. The ears are stiff and are filled to keep shape.
They have long thin tails which are weighted and fall and hang really nicely.
Once I finish sewing them they are aged and stained to give gentle markings and colour.
They are large pieces and are approx 20cm wide and 70cm tall.
As with all my pieces they are made with a home made folk style and stains and markings are to be expected and celebrated.
The paws can be folded together and your Ratty friend looks best sat upright.
The photos must be studied as refunds will not be given if you are unhappy with how your piece looks.
I want them to look old and have lived a life before you have them. It's important for me for things to look this way.

Each Rat doll comes with FREE UK shipping and will be sent out in a tough card tube..the doll is wrapped up in brown paper inside so they should arrive safe and sound and if left in the tube can be easily wrapped for gifting.
